Diana Schnürpel’s artistic focus lies in the demanding roles of the dramatic coloratura soprano, the bel canto tradition, and complex works of classical modernism.
A central pillar of her work is the role of the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), which she has performed in over 20 different productions at internationally renowned houses, including the Hamburg State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Estates Theatre Prague. Her repertoire also includes dramatic-virtuoso roles such as the title character in Maria Stuarda, the Contessa di Folleville (Il viaggio a Reims), and Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia).
With her background as an award-winning concert pianist, Diana Schnürpel possesses an exceptional musical grasp of contemporary compositions (e.g., György Ligeti) and Slavic repertoire. Her current focus is on the strategic expansion into the dramatic-lyric field as well as the Lieder of Richard Strauss.
